I opened up the morning paper
that uncovered my whole heart
names were written there
that I knew and I loved

but one stood out to me

apart

from the others

and I cried in my love
revealed by the paper
written in mad mudslinging
(an effective tactic)
truth marred and myrrh
I am who I am
I am that is.
It is finished.

IN MY MIND
clothed in a long tan sundress
she waits for me patiently
and I go to her side as
I see the fullness of her beauty

I see her hair is a dark flowing river
that spills over her shoulders
her eyes shimmer brightly
like mahogany orbs that gaze intently
they are locked in with mine
Her hands are pale and soft
they hold and caress my trembling body
her lips gently quiver
over mine as I close my eyes
thinking of just how much I love her....

but then I open the shutters, and she's gone
it was all in my mind.
